About MeHello, my name is Lisa Harris, I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist, with an MSc (Distinction) in Integrative psychotherapy, which I gained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute with Staffordshire university. I offer psychotherapy and clinical supervision.
Integrative psychotherapy entails different relational and developmental theories blended together to provide therapy to suit each individual, as there are many approaches that can help. Which theories and modalities are blended depends on an individual’s experiences. In Integrative counselling/psychotherapy we will also work together on integrating feeling, thought and behaviour. The outcome of integration is to feel whole, content and find new ways of being that feel a fit for you. New ways of being, will bring about changes, improving your mental, emotional and often physical well-being. As a health care professional I have worked in the NHS for over 20 years in varying roles that included management, associate lecturing, Adult safeguarding and teaching as a NMC registered general nurse. I have worked as an accredited therapist for four years in private practice and three years in the NHS in a mental health setting. I have a particular interest and experience in working with adults with early childhood trauma. I believe I am a warm, honest, accepting and non-judgmental person, who is easy to get along with. I understand difficulties in relationships, relationship breakdowns, difficulties in childhood, stress and financial challenges, and have had much experience working with other difficulties in life as a healthcare professional. From my time in the NHS, volunteer counselling services and private practice, I have enjoyed working with a diverse group of people from many walks of life. My past and present work has given me varied and diverse experience, working with:
